Invitations to DekkoCIRCLEs can be done in a few different ways:
- Regular invites
- Via registration link
- Via mass invite
Before inviting people to your DekkoCIRCLE, it is important to understand member visibility types. You can change the visibility setting of users at any time after they accept your invite. DekkoCIRCLEs have three different member types:
External members can only be seen by members who are Visible to External. They cannot see other external members. An example use case would be adding a customer to a circle where you do not want them to see other customers or employees.
Visible to External members can be seen by all other circle members regardless of type. An example use case would be using this type for an employee in circle that is visible to both customers and managers.
Invisible to External members can only be seen by non-external members. An example use case would be for a manager that can view discussion in a circle and be seen by employees, but not customers.
Press the orange “invite” button on the DekkoCIRCLE:
The invite dialog window will open. Set the visibility of user and whether or not they will be able to invite other users to the DekkoCIRCLE, then fill in their name and email address (you can change this setting after they accept your invite). If the invitee is already a Dekko user, an invite will be sent to their DekkoMAIL inbox in the public DekkoCIRCLE. If they are not a user, an invite to register a Dekko account will go to their email inbox. When they register they will automatically be added to your DekkoCIRCLE and you will be notified.
If you give invitees the ability to invite other users, you will be notified when they exercise this privilege.
Invites received are located in two places – the Public DekkoMAIL inbox (if it is enabled), and the invite box. When you have a pending invite it will appear with in the invite box as indicated by the red marker. To accept the invite, press the invite box button, and then accept the invite.
After accepting the invite, the DekkoCIRCLE will be added and you will be able to start using it.
Registration links are intended for invitees that do not have a Dekko account.
To access registration links press “Registration links” on the tab drop-down:
Registration links can be copied, pasted and sent to anyone you trust, over a channel that you trust. At any time you can refresh links to make previously sent ones inoperable. Ensure that for any link you send, the “disabled” option is unchecked.
Note the visibility setting for each link.
Mass invites are performed using CSV files (Don’t feel scared, it’s very easy!)
Note: lists are per visibility type, so you will need to create one CSV file per list of users.
First, open Microsoft Excel and fill the first column with the addresses of users you want to invite:
Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file:
To access the mass invite tool press “Mass invite” on the tab drop-down:
The mass invite dialog window will open. Set the visibility of user and whether or not (you can chage this later in the DekkoCIRCLE settings) they will be able to invite other users to the DekkoCIRCLE, then press “Upload emails”:
Select your saved CSV file. The addresses in the file will populate the invite list:
To finish, press the “Invite” button. If an invitee is already a Dekko user, an invite will be sent to their DekkoMAIL inbox in the public DekkoCIRCLE. If they are not a user, an invite to register a Dekko account will go to their email inbox. When they register they will automatically be added to your DekkoCIRCLE and you will be notified.
